Mike Wood. UK

After studying art and gaining teaching qualifications at Goldsmiths, London University, British artist Mike Wood went on to pursue a career in education. Since leaving the teaching profession he now has the time to indulge his passion for painting which he does most days in his studio at home.

Mike works mostly in oils and his subjects are varied but have recently tended to focus on local landscapes close to home in West Yorkshire, England.

Mike paints in a realistic, painterly style and is very much influenced by many modern day artists including David Curtis, Peter Brown, Mark Boedges and Robert Brindley. Many of his paintings are held in private collections in the UK as well as abroad. He currently exhibits and sells his paintings at Art Original Gallery in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

The selection of oil paintings displayed on The Signature Arts site are relatively small works painted on canvas panels. They are framed without glass in a traditional style with a white slip and are finished with a retouch varnish.

Anyone wishing to purchase an unframed painting should contact Mike directly for prices.
